Coriander Chutney

An herb with wide delicate lacy green leaves and a pungent flavor. The seed of the cilantro plant is known as coriander (Kothimira). Although cilantro and coriander come from the same plant, their flavors are very different and cannot be substituted for each other. (Some countries refer to the cilantro as coriander, so any references to "fresh coriander" or "coriander leaves" refer to cilantro.)

* Coriander Leaves-1 bunch.
* Green chiilies-2.
* Tamarind or puli-1/2 tbs.
* Ginger- a small bit.
* Raosted channa dhal-1tsp.
* Salt to taste.
* Turmeric - a small pinch
* Oil -1tsp for seasoning.
* Mustard seeds.
* Split urad dhal.
* Curry leaves.


1. Grind all the above ingredients together in a mixer with a little water and season with mustard seeds and urad dhal.

Mint chutney can also be done the same way.
